Sourcing & trading of Chemical & Pharmaceuticals raw material is one of the tough and competitive businesses to endeavour. The sourcing, delivering faster on time and reducing the lead time to manage the bridge between one manufacturer Business to finished product companies.
Jigen Shah was born in Ahmedabad. He was Thinking to start off by helping his father’s OTC Product business in Ahmedabad. After Graduating from Gujarat University in the stream of Chemical Engineering from L. D. Engineering collage. But he at age of 24 started working for chemicals for production & marketing for others but realised to start his own company as “Jigs chemical”
The realisation to start his own chemical company had came in the mind of Jigen when he was helping his father. He got his initial investment from his father and started Jigs Chemical in 1998. He has not limit himself to just one area of chemical industries or only one state or one sector. He generated revenues by selling and utilising market information for chemicals. He made his first sale after exhibited his brand but actually before starting company. He started his business and took order of petroleum jelly. First procurement was 1000 kgs and when his company got necessary registration he has scaled it in a full way by using his technical chemical knowledge.
It took a month to complete the first sale. The main focus was industrial commodities. The main function of Sales & Marketing by himself he outsourced other business function such as accounting, logistic requirements from others. Jigs have company culture to do everything with advice of experts. He has established a system of customer data gathering, sorting and then utilising that to increase his business.
Fundas of life : He is not having business partner but he believes that an ideal co-Founder is one who completes the picture for you in areas that are not your forte & is also like minded in the context of the venture’s vision and his partner should be a Visionary and hard working with lot sensitivity. He believes that good teams are key to success. Jigs hire them as liability but by career development convert them to asset with maximum possibility of their experience and competencies. He himself work with Patience and Persistence, also adopted by his team as fundas of life.
Vision: The vision of his venture is to establish global chemical & pharmaceutical company having offices across globe. He wants accomplish this and to create employment for 1000+ business leaders in his team.
Work Life Balance: He preferred work and life should balance with that and believes that work at appropriate time of work and enjoy life at time with family.
Jigen has a very High ambition to take Jigs Chemical to historical heights, not only in giving value to his customers but also with truthfulness and truthfulness to develop and maintain reliability that all customers should be able to assert upon.
Believing in new technology he has developed a portal website to serve global customers with 30000 raw material availability and become a premium sourcing company for pharmaceutical, chemical, textile, dyes and other industries to serve. He also developed an mobile application for serving pharma distributors vs. retailers to reduce the sourcing of formulations and generic medicine of a different segment.
His Suggestion for future Entrepreneurs is to this venture work is always put 50 % of efforts/finance in new developments to satisfy and also try to implement new ideas.
